Οι 134 συμμετοχές για τα Βραβεία Όσκαρ στην κατηγορία των ντοκιμαντέρ

Αν και λίγο λιγότερες από το περσινό ρεκόρ των 151 συμμετοχών για το Όσκαρ καλύτερου ντοκιμαντέρ, τα 134 φετινά ντοκιμαντέρ δεν είναι λιγότερο αξιόλογα. Η διαδικασία επιλογής τελικών υποψηφιοτήτων είναι παρόμοια με αυτήν για το Όσκαρ Ξενόγλωσσης Ταινίας, με τη διαφορά πως τα 400 μέλη της επιτροπής για τα ντοκιμαντέρ θα έχουν να επιλέξουν 15 ταινίες οι οποίες θα ανακοινωθούν τον Δεκέμβρη, από τις οποίες οι 5 θα είναι οι τελικές υποψηφιότητες.

Τα κριτίρια για την κατηγορία είναι πιο αυστηρά φέτος απ’ότι άλλες χρονιές οπότε υπάρχει μεγάλη πιθανότητα να αποκλειστούν κάποιες συμμετοχές στην πορεία, ενώ ήδη κάποια θεωρούνται φαβορί όπως το “Citizen Four” για τον Έντουαρτ Σνόουντεν, το “Finding Vivian Maier” για την ζωή της άγνωστης μέχρι πρόσφατα φωτογράφου Βίβιαν Μάιερ, το “Magician: The Astonishing Life and Work of Orson Welles” κ.α.

Οι τελικές υποψηφιότητες θα ανακοινωθούν επίσημα στις 15 Ιανουαρίου στις 5:30 π.μ. (τοπική ώρα), ενώ η τελετή για τα βραβεία Όσκαρ θα γίνει την Κυριακή 22 Φεβρουαρίου.
