“1917″. Το απόλυτο Οσκαρικό φαβορί. Θριάμβευσε και στα Bafta

Οι Βρετανοί για άλλη μια χρονιά, παίνεψαν το σπίτι τους και έδωσαν απλόχερα πληθώρα βραβείων στο πολεμικό δράμα του συμπατριώτη του Σαμ Μέντες ” 1917″.  Το εντυπωσιακό έργο-μονοπλάνο του Μέντες κέρδισε  τα πιο σημαντικά βραβεία, όπως επί παραδείγματι την καλύτερη ταινία, την καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία και το μοντάζ, αλλά  και τα περισσότερα βραβεία,συνολικά επτά. Ακολούθησε το ” Joker” με σαφώς λιγότερα( μεταξύ άλλων  ήταν και το βραβείο ερμηνείας για τον Χοακίν Φίνιξ και σάουντρακ), όπως επίσης  κέρδισε βραβεία   και το νοτιοκορεάτικο έργο ” Παράσιτα.”. Τα Βρετανικά Βραβεία Κινηματογράφου, έρχονται λίγες μέρες πριν τα Όσκαρ( 10 Φεβρουαρίου).  Τα τελευταία χρόνια οι αποφάσεις των δύο Ακαδημιών δεν συμβάδιζαν, αλλά φέτος είναι πιθανόν να ταυτιστούν. Το “1917″ έχει πάρει σαφές προβάδισμα και ο Μέντες είναι έτοιμος  να γευτεί τις δάφνες για δεύτερη φορά, μετά τον Οσκαρικό θρίαμβο για το ” American Beauty”,  πριν από 20 χρόνια.
